The Funk/Soul Collection is the ultimate feel-good
disco party band. Tight harmonised vocals with an energetic and authentic
backing band ensure the dancefloor is packed from the very first song.
The Sound
Funk/Soul Collection aim to sound as authentic as possible, even using
original instruments and amps. They are a full live band and use NO
BACKING TRACKS
The quality of the vocalists in the band is exceptional
– beautiful lead vocals with tight harmonies , driven by one of
the most energetic and passionate bands around.
This is backed up by top sound engineers (their
engineers have worked with Razorlight, Madness and Diana Ross) using
professional grade PA equipment that is tailored to meet the needs of
each individual event.
The Set
The set is a carefully crafted collection of the greatest dancefloor
fillers from the last three decades. Playing nothing but the biggest
hits, each song is tried and tested to ensure that the audience is on
their feet having a great time.
Recreating legendary tracks by the likes of Chic,
Sister Sledge, Rose Royce, Luther Van Dross, Shalamar, The Jackson Five,
and Gloria Gaynor, seamlessly mixed with more modern acts such as Jamiroquai,
Artful Dodger and Justin Timberlake; There really is something for everyone.
The Musicians
The experience of the professional musicians that make up the Funk/Soul
Collection is of the highest calibre.
Members have played with/musically directed the
likes of Omar, Shola Ama, Carleen Anderson, Des’ree, Gabrielle,
Aaron Soul, and Mica Paris, have held residencies at The Fridge (Brixton),
The Blue Note (Hoxton/Islington) and The Road House (Covent Garden),
as well as appearances at The Jazz Café (Camden), Ronnie Scott’s
(Soho), and Café de Paris (Soho). They also have had releases
on Acid Jazz Records.
The Performance
Every time the Funk/Soul Collection take to the stage they give the
audience only one choice……… to dance!
Their stage wear is both kitsch and chic and adds
that extra dimension to the performance and the good time had on stage
is infectious and soon spreads throughout the audience.
